The Société de musique contemporaine du Québec proudly presents:
Tango Diablo!, a solo recital by the pianist Louise Bessette.
Presented within the framework of the Conseil des arts de Montréal's
Tour: « Jouer dans l'île », this highly colourful and virtuoso program
will include enticingly-titled tangos: Incitation to desire by
C. Biscardi, The Exile's Café by M. Sahl, Tango
Dreaming by C. Bright, amusing Fromage dangereux by W.
Schimmel, and the “tango comique” by R. Berkman,
Thorn-Torn Lips.
In addition to the classics by Albeniz, Stravinsky, Schulhoff, and
Piazzolla, a tango-fantasy, Für Louise, dedicated to the
pianist by Canadian composer Raoul Sosa, will be heard, as well as
Antoine's Tango, a lullaby-tango dedicated to Louise
Bessette's son, by the American Barbara Kolb.
