Montreal November 7, 2009 - On Sunday, November 22, at 4:00 PM, Montrealpianist Louise Bessette brings to eXcentris the new version of her program "The Eternal Bells".  This new version will be heard for the first time in Montreal.

Louise Bessette shall judiciously perform works by Alkan, Arcuri, Debussy, Ducol, Grieg, Liszt, Louie, Messiaen, Mompou, Murail, Pärt, Provost, Ravel, Scelsi and Turina. The public is thus invited to appreciate how campaniles stood the test of time.

Ms. Bessette has recorded one of the works on this poetic evening for the soundtrack of the new French film by Julie Lopes-Curval, "Mères et filles", starring Catherine Deneuve and Marie-Josée Croze. Les cloches , by Charles-Valentin Alkan, is opening the movie as it will open Louise Bessette's recital. She has recorded other works by Alkan for this movie (one of them with cellist Yegor Dyachkov), and a short extract by Grieg. Shown at the International Montreal Film Festival in August 2009, the film has opened to wide acclaim in Europe and will come to theaters in Quebec soon.

On Thursday, November 26, at 8:00 PM, at the St. Lawrence Centre for the Arts, for the serie Music Toronto, Louise Bessette will join the famous Arditti Quartet for the world premiere of Le tumulte des flots, a quintet written by Montreal composer Serge Arcuri. This work is written thanks to a grant from the Canada Council for the Arts.

The work will be repeated on Saturday, November 28, at 8:00 PM, at the Edmonton Convocation Hall, for the serie organized by the Edmonton Chamber Music Society. This concert will be broadcast by CBC.
